Reference #: 4559628 THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), an independent state agency with more than $3 billion sales yearly, is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to serve as an Attorney 3, Non-Supervisory within the Office of Chief Counsel.  If you have professional legal experience handling employment-related matters, the PLCB wants to talk to you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Attorney 3, you will be responsible for non-supervisory professional legal work, ranging from moderately difficult to complex.  Duties involve personal responsibility and accountability for difficult and important legal dealings within the agency.  This position functions independently, and work is subject to general supervision.  Legal advice is sought or received from higher level attorneys on legal issues of unusual complexity, sensitivity, or importance.

Within this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to the PLCB surrounding employment-related matters, as well as providing legal representation to the PLCB in any administrative or court proceedings linked to those matters.  This professional researches legal issues, reviews and analyzes legislation, drafts regulatory amendment proposals, and handles employment matters.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days a week.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of professional legal experience and graduation from an accredited school of law; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Post Employment Requirement: You must be certified for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and must maintain membership on a continuous basis during employment.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Experience with representing clients in State Civil Service Commission proceedings, union grievance arbitration proceedings, unemployment compensation proceedings, and/or proceedings before the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and/or U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is strongly preferred. Applicants who are highly motivated and ready to step into the role with little to no additional training.
