DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant 1,  you will provide administrative and technical assistance to support Office of Education and Outreach programs.  Some of those programs include evidence-based health and wellness initiatives, Medicare assistance and information, training, and volunteerism within Pennsylvania's Aging Network.  This role also assists in the preparation of grant applications and budgetary tasks such as reviewing Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) program spending plans and year-end reports to ensure compliance to established policies and standards.  Excellent communications skills are essential, as you will serve as the initial point of contact for incoming inquiries and visitors to the department.  You will also have the opportunity to research information, respond to inquiries, and refer to appropriate resources to bring people and supports together.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: This position is headquartered in Harrisburg.  With the administration and agency leadership's support, this position is eligible for part-time telework.  Management may discontinue the telework arrangement at any time, for any reason.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.  You will be required to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg when directed.  If you are unable to telework, you will report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.  The location where you perform your telework must be located within a reasonable travel distance of the headquarters office in Harrisburg, within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
