DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administration and Management Trainee, you will participate in a 12-month structured training program, designed to develop administrative and technical competence while giving you an understanding of state government organizations and operations. You will be working on HR workflows and role mapping positions to provide secured system access to approved data for the Department of Transportation (PennDOT). You will assist in managing the agency's annuitant program and wage complement (regular, annuitant, and seasonal) by reviewing and approving wage and salaried complement requests via our internal process. You will have the opportunity to assist with the preparation of various HR data reports, including complement reports. You will assist in administering the agency's modified duty program and help in providing oversight to the upload and retrieval of documents in electronic personnel files. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
