Job Title: HVAC Service Technician

Job Description

As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential homes. This role requires a thorough understanding of HVAC systems and the ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Installation: Setting up new HVAC systems and equipment in homes.

  • Maintenance: Performing routine checks and maintenance to ensure systems run efficiently.

  • Repairs: Diagnosing and fixing issues with HVAC systems, including emergency repairs.

  • Customer Interaction: Communicating with homeowners to explain issues, provide maintenance tips, and offer energy-saving advice.

  • Compliance: Ensuring all work meets local building codes and safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • Technical knowledge of HVAC systems

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Good customer service and communication skills

  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Completion of an approved HVAC apprenticeship program

  • Proven work experience as an HVAC technician, typically 1-5 years

  • EPA certification for handling refrigerants

  • Additional certifications like NATE (North American Technician Excellence) can be beneficial

  • A valid driver's license

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and sometimes in confined spaces

  • Flexibility to work after hours, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed

Work Environment

The role is primarily in residential new construction. You will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. You will frequently work in various weather conditions, and the noise level can occasionally be loud. The position requires physical demands including lifting equipment, tools, products, and supplies up to 50 pounds. Safety is a priority, and all employees must follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, use appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Harleysville, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $65000.00
