U.S. Air Force - Agency Wide SECURITY SPECIALIST - DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY in Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts

The primary purpose of this position is to manage organization security programs in order to effectively ensure all personnel are trained/aware of their security roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities; make personnel aware of threats, and/or provide security response options for enhancing security and addressing security concerns. Administers the Information Security program for Government organizations, to implement procedures and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information. Administers the Industrial Security program, providing technical guidance in development of program/project/activity specific requirements in conjunction with Contracting Officers, ensuring all solicitations and contracts. Administers the Personnel Security Program implementing procedures for managing the program and/or enforces local procedures for initiating and processing requests for security clearance investigations for military and civilian personnel. Provides organization OPSEC guidance by establishing policies and procedures for accomplishment of OPSEC activities. Represents organizations that establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships, and/or meeting with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems. Knowledge of physical, information, industrial, personnel, and operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. 2. Knowledge of security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs. 3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation and supported organizations. 4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. 5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
