UTZ Quality Foods Inc Production Supervisor- Weekend Night in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 5001051137900 Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and is currently recruiting for a Production / Sanitation Supervisor to work from our manufacturing facility located in Wilkes Barre, PA. This position will lead our NEW Weekend Night crew. Required hours are Saturday-Sunday 6PM-6AM with the opportunity to flex up to 40 hours Monday-Friday. The Sanitation/Production Supervisor is the primary leader and operational support for all sanitation and production activities. They assist the Quality manager in implementation of the programs required to meet USDA and FDA regulations. They provide daily direction related to activities, oversight, and training to the sanitation team as well as verify the effectiveness of their work ensuring achievement to quality and production goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage sanitation team(s). Plan and supervise application of all sanitation control measures. Plan and administer sanitation training. Develop and maintain master sanitation/cleaning schedule. Ensure use of pre-op checklists by Sanitation to validate cleanliness of equipment. Conduct daily pre-op inspection and ATP swabbing. Maintain log that identifies percentage of pass/fail and identify areas for improvement. Enforce all safety practices as directed by regulatory and company policies for equipment, sanitation, product safety and personal safety. Plan schedule and manage effective use of chemical, PPE and other related supplies, and other assets required to obtain lowest possible costs. Conduct ongoing assessments to identify areas for improvement in chemical, labor and/or equipment use. Work directly with Sanitation Chemical Representative to validate effective use of chemicals, areas for improvement and plan for implementation of improvements. Develop and maintain job descriptions for all sanitation/cleaning functions. Clearly identify expectations for compliance, validation of results, and specific training and skills required for a specific assigned area. Develop and manage cross training program to develop a work force that is multi-task certified. Administer work schedules to ensure that proper work force is available for work required. Adjust as production/needs change. Assist with monthly Internal Audits and 3rd party Audits as needed. Maintain documentation on, but not limited to: Master Sanitation Schedule, SSOP's, job descriptions, ATP swab results, Sanitation pre-op checklists, Sanitation chemical logs, inventory and titrations (including listing), product data sheets and MSDS. Ensure all required training is completed. Adhere to all policies, guidelines, and procedures, such as GMP, HACCP, and work and safety rules. Initiate disciplinary action as required based on clear and documented non-compliance events. Perform other duties as required Oversees and manages the Processing and Packaging Department and ensures daily production requirements are met in the most efficient manner while maintaining high quality standards. Oversees training programs and provides training for all processing and packaging personnel to ensure proper job performance of all personnel. Coordinates all packaging film waste figures. Assists the Plant Manager and helps finalize daily, weekly and monthly reports which measure operating efficiencies. Analyzes existing production lines and recommends adaptations and innovations, which will increase effectiveness and lower costs. Works closely with the maintenance department to ensure all processing and packaging equipment is properly maintained and preventive maintenance programs adhered to. Responsible to ensure that Utz processing and packaging standards are consistently maintained. Assess the quality of finished product based on salt and oil content, finished moisture, slice thickness, F.F.A. of oil, code dates, prices, bag weights, seal integrity, seasoning level, nitrogen flush program, scanning ctivity and finish product accountability. Monitors and analyzes labor hours needed to run production lines efficiently. Manages the scheduling of all processing and packaging associates and ensures all sanitation practices and policies are maintained to Utz Quality Foods standards. Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position. Responsible to set direction and ensure that a high degree of packaging and processing excellence is maintained. Requirements: Associates degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor of Science degree preferred. Familiar with working in a USDA regulated facility Requires a working knowledge of processing and packaging equipment usually acquired through 5 years of experience. Dedication to achievement of results. Requires leadership and management to direct the Processing and Packaging Departments and interface with other departments. Mechanical aptitude.
