• Comply with all Safety, Operational and Employment policies and practices

• Overall supervision of production activities and personnel

• Ensure subordinates are trained and competent in complying with product quality and food safety requirements

• Day-to-day compliance with quality, food safety and prerequisite programs

• Follow quality requirements to meet or exceed specifications

• Work with quality and supervisory team on developing and executing corrective action plans related to quality concerns: complaints, global corrective actions, and other quality issues

• Must have scheduling flexibility to meet the demands of a 24/7 operation

• Develop and administer plans and programs to meet production requirements by establishing operating objectives and recommending staffing and manufacturing needs.

• Analyze operational costs, investigate significant variances, create and implement corrective action, and keep production management fully informed of actions taken

• Monitor and control process/maintenance costs and production levels to remain within budgetary goals

• Use fact-based team problem solving techniques to identify and solve problems

• Support “best demonstrated practices” by communicating and cooperating with team members to implement technological changes, exchange experiences, ideas, and solutions to operating problems/challenges

• Ensure there is an ongoing program to control and reduce cost, improve quality and operating efficiency

• Coordinate with local and corporate CI resources on site initiatives around process improvement, eliminating wastes, and optimizing flow in all manufacturing processes to drive project execution and deliver on savings

• Maintain a strong internal customer focus by cooperating with other departments and support groups

• Responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective communications program which includes communicating plant mission and results and providing customer feedback to all team members.

• Maintain high levels of team member performance and morale through ongoing monitoring, coaching, guidance and continuous feedback

• Ensure all team members have proper authority to conduct job duties as assigned

• Foster an environment of continuous improvement, involvement, teamwork, customer focus (internal/external) by agreeing upon goals, communicating expectations, providing training, resources, equipment, encouragement and displaying the expectation to make fact-based decisions

• Participate in all safety, quality, operations planning, technical and other applicable site meetings outside the scope of production to ensure all teams are functioning with the same objectives and plans

• Establish common goals, communicate expectations and provide training resources as need to the team

• Manage and control inventory levels per established guidelines

• Resolve food safety concerns

• Performs other duties as needed
