The Engineering & Sciences organization is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Test Engineer supporting all engineering lab infrastructure and operational activities across the G/ATOR program family, based out of our portfolio in the Advanced Land Sensors (ALS) Operating Unit (OU) in Maritime & Land Sensors and Systems (MLSS) Division.

This position is an on-site position, and will be located in Linthicum, Maryland.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all infrastructure efforts relating to lab activities across all G/ATOR programs

  • Coordinate across development and production teams

  • Lead Capital hardware management and tracking

  • Support testing of new lab equipment, software

  • Support Test Set RCCA activities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incident reports provided by end user feedback

  • Regression testing and test result reporting

  • Actively Manage Calibration Schedules

  • Work with IT/IA teams on proper entry/exit procedures for electronic equipment

  • Manage and oversee lab hardware calibration requirements and schedule

  • Manage lab safety and house keeping

  • Manage test bench configurations/reconfigurations, including schedule adjustments for any repair or critical test needs

  • Build/Repair Test Stations, Fixtures, Cables & CCAs

  • Manage test equipment movement, GFE & Capital tracking, inventory

  • Coordinate and manage security of closed areas, safes, and other storage spaces

  • Lead visitor escorts, tours, demos

  • Sanitization of classified parts and equipment

  • Facility maintenance work orders

  • Support Cost proposals, Customer Reviews

  • Lead resource reviews; organize lab Capital requests

  • Support audits from different internal organizations

This position is contingent upon successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • A current/active DoD secret clearance is required

  • Minimum of 4 years experience supporting engineering labs and/or supporting integration & test efforts in a lab environment

  • Minimum of 2 years experience leading teams

  • Experience managing project cost and schedule

  • Ability to lead teams through influence

  • Experience with RF lab test equipment: signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving HW/SW/FW integration problems

  • Knowledge and experience with ground radars and AESA radar development, design, test

  • Understanding of Systems Engineering verification planning and execution

  • Multi-disciplinary engineering experience and exposure (Software/Digital, Hardware, Electrical, Systems) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally

  • Master’s degree in STEM or technical leadership

  • Experience supporting USMC and/or USAF customer

  • Ability to qualify for program access based on customer requirements (SAP/SAR)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. 

Salary Range: $119,200 - $178,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
