Job Title: Proposal Writer

Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our Engineering Services Team. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts and receive significant oversight from the Engineering delivery teams and support from the Proposal Manager. The role involves writing and editing comprehensive technical solution details, including methodologies, technical concepts, standards applied, risk management, project management, technology considerations, examples of previous projects, employee credentials, and top-level solutions. The individual will support the engineering delivery teams across the entire business acquisition and proposal development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create, collect, write, and edit technical inputs.

  • Format personnel profiles and resumes.

  • Collect, write, and edit project examples.

  • Organize technical inputs and coordinate with the proposal team on assigned tasks.

  • Interface between the engineering delivery teams and other stakeholders on technical content.

  • Grasp complex solutions quickly and explain them to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Review and provide quality assurance for work products prior to submission.

  • Maintain quality results by using templates, following standards, and ensuring readability, consistency, and appropriate tone.

Essential Skills

  • 3-10 years of experience writing technical content for large proposals or statements of qualifications.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Deadline-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

  • Strong attention to detail and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the Utilities, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or similar industries.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience working directly with Subject Matter Experts, writing first draft technical content, and refining technical documentation.

  • Extensive experience with MS Office Suite and Adobe.

  • Ability to understand highly technical concepts and articulate them to various audiences.

  • Ability to take constructive criticism to improve technical content.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $61000.00 - $114000.00

Allegis Full-Time Employee (FTE) Benefits; Standard Employee Profit-Sharing; 20 Days Paid Time-Off (PTO); 6 Paid Holidays.

This is a hybrid position in Hanover,MD.
