Nielsen Mail Machine Operator in Hanover, Maryland

Position Overview

To label, print, insert and mail daily production jobs for mail room machines and manual processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for accurately preparing and processing timely high volume mailings .

  • Responsibilities include being able to set up ink-jet systems, inserting machines, box formers & closer, shrink-wrap and printers.

  • Ensure adjustments are correctly made for the various size and thickness of material used.

  • Will assist in accurately preparing and completing mailings for other departments as requested.

  • Will access the required programs for specific jobs.

  • Will maintain all systems by making minor repairs and mechanical adjustments as needed.

  • Driving company vehicle to mailing facility daily.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.

  • Must have 1-2 years in a direct mail environment.

  • Basic knowledge in the operation of ink-jet and inserting equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Windows.

  • The ability to operate and maintain mailing equipment making minor repairs and adjustments.

  • Must be able to follow Post Office regulations as it applies to mailing and receiving presort discounts.

  • Must be a team player within the department.

  • Must possess good verbal and written skills to interact with co-workers.

  • Will maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • Must have a clean driving record.

  • DOT Certification will be required upon starting employment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 60+ pounds.

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn.

  • DOT Certification will be required upon starting employment

Schedule Requirements

  • Monday-Friday: Day shift 8:00am-4:30pm (Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed)

The salary for a new employee to be offered this role is $ 19.23 , which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
