The Maryland Department of Transportation is seeking

a highly skilled and experienced

Director of

Financial Reporting

(Fiscal Services Administrator VI)

to join our team. The Director of Financial Reporting is a

critical member of the Finance Senior Management team responsible for financial reporting ensuring compliance

with generally accepted accounting principles and federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and practices. This

position directly oversees the day-to-day operations of the unit at the Secretarys Office providing support, direction,

and strategic oversight on reporting matters of each of the transportation modes within MDOT.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, implement, and manage new and revised fiscal policies, procedures, and standards.

``` - Develop, implement, and maintain an effective internal control framework to protect from fraud and waste. - Assist in ensuring the accounting operations of the department are in compliance. - Serve as audit liaison, and ensure corrective actions are taken in response to audit findings. - Assist in overseeing departments year end closing process. - Prepare MDOTs annual comprehensive financial report.
