Overview:

Headquarters, Air Combat Command (ACC), Directorate of Plans, Programs, and Requirements Command and Control (C2) Weapons Systems (A5Y) at Langley Air Force Base, VA serves as the single focal point for modernizing and sustaining command and control (C2) weapon systems and mission support planning systems for ACC. A5Y provides "cradle to grave" sustainment, maintenance, and logistics decisions across the lifecycle of C2ISR systems. A5Y's mission is to provide on-scene tactical battle management, command & control (BMC2), wide-area surveillance and mission planning capabilities to Air Force operators.

Job Summary:

Support efforts to conduct operational studies to determine capability gaps, assess risk, and identify most efficient solutions for mission planning systems. This will include supporting the Program Manager's efforts to determine the most efficient team structure, build interdependent schedules, track required efforts, report status, and recommend alternative approaches to the Government as required. This will also include supporting risk assessments, threat assessments, operational effectiveness efforts, and comparing alternative solutions.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

• Five (5) years' experience on USAF MAJCOM or higher-level staff (combination of activeduty, Government service, or Contractor)

• Five (5) years' operational experience in the USAF Mission Planning Systems Mission area

  Essential Duties:

• Facilitate and monitor the efforts of working groups as assigned by Government Lead and Project Coordinator developing reports, briefings, etc. as required and directed.

• Maintain familiarity with related operational documents and support the development of others as required.

• Provide senior level representative responsible for overall project analysis and an in-depth understanding of the JCIDS process; all relevant functional areas; the Mission Planning area; DoD staff work/processes; and regulations guiding JCIDS document development and coordination

• Develop and manage integrated product work schedules; recommend needed expertise to effectively accomplish a required effort to include studies; facilitate, track, and manage performance of study team members; monitor progress and provide timely updates on status of assigned projects; and project cost/schedule impact.

• Utilize an in-depth understanding of the overall JCIDS process to effectively identify and coordinate required resources to maintain established schedules and baselines, as well as develop "get-well" strategies as required.

• Utilize expertise with PPBE to support functions such as POM builds and to advise Government on programmatic issues

• Stay abreast of all relevant information and guidance impacting JCIDS related studies, POMs, associated documents, coordination requirements, etc.

  Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

• Five (5) years' experience developing, coordinating, publishing, and briefing JCIDS documents
