Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Communications Specialist to join our team in Hampton, Virginia. The role will involve working across various sectors to deliver effective communication strategies and materials. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, managing social media platforms, and creating engaging content.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective communication strategies that align with our objectives.

• Manage social media platforms, ensuring regular content updates and audience engagement.

• Create engaging content such as emails, social media posts, and press releases.

• Utilize Canva to design promotional materials including flyers and advertisements.

• Manage business correspondence to ensure effective communication with partners and clients.

• Perform mail merge tasks for large scale mailings.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook to organize and manage data.

• Ensure all communications and promotional materials are accurately labeled and organized.

• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns.

• Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook is necessary.

• Must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

• Familiarity with Canva is a must.

• Experience in creating and managing advertisements is required.

• Must have strong skills in business correspondence and mail merge.

• Social media management experience is essential.

• Experience in labeling and creating flyers is required.

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred.

• Proficient in MS Office.

• Knowledge of web design.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Energy and enthusiasm for the job.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
