TAD PGS, Inc. Quality Control Technician in Hampton, Georgia

We have an outstanding career opportunity for aQuality Control Technicianto join a leading Company located in theHampton, GAsurrounding area.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide inspection and testing of all finished products and raw materials to ensure they meet company and UL Specifications as required

  • Communicates any out-of-specification testing to the Manager and Production Supervisor

  • Performs line audits to assess finished quality and in-process quality including temperatures, speed, pressures, etc

  • Assists in the training of production employees; in addition to training QC/Lead & Relief in performing duties related to quality control

  • Input data in the computer as to specification requirements

  • Rotate with other Lab Technicians to ensure coverage during roofing production hours

  • Input data into Bizware, Google Sheets, Excel, and Peoplesoft daily and verify data is accurate at the end of the month for QC monthly report

  • Assist in the Competitive & Sister Audits, when time allows

  • Communicate with Supervision and production employees as to quality issues during the production process

  • Contains and tags any suspect material and communicates to QC Manager and Roofing Line Superintendent details of defect and quantity on hold

  • Perform warehouse audits to assess finished goods quality

  • Maintain lab equipment, scales, and equipment on the manufacturing floor that are required for quality testing

  • Responsible for cleaning testing materials, beakers, SP apparatus, etc

  • Keeping the lab in good working order and tidy

  • Maintain all color standards at Slate and ensures operator paperwork is available for start-up and color change

  • Maintains drop cups as needed for standard verification

  • Maintain Color display board for all products

  • Ensures standards are available and in good physical shape for color verification at start-up, shift change, and color change

  • Perform testing for all products

  • Prepares samples for shipment to MDI and ensures data meets requirements during production run

  • Set up wastewater sampling and prepare samples for shipment once per month (day shift)

  • Assist in the design and implementation of new products

  • Participate in project teams to improve quality , process, or performance on roofing products

  • Assist Supervisor on shift with troubleshooting quality or process-related issues

  • Communicates to other lab employees and managers pertinent information regarding quality and/or production issues

  • Supervise production employees in the absence of a Production Supervisor

  • Transport injured employees to the emergency room if required

    Basic Hiring Criteria :

  • High School diploma or equivalent; some college or an associate's degree preferred

  • Must be able to pass basic skills assessment in Microsoft Excel

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing facility or one similar

    Desired Qualifications :

  • Excel, Word, PeopleSoft, Bizware, and other programs exclusive to Quality Assurance

  • Mathematical skills with an emphasis on statistical processes

  • Communication skills to effectively converse with Production

  • Knowledge of the Manufacturing process
