Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Configuration Management Engineer to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Configuration Management Engineer uses systems engineering to establish and maintain consistency of the product's performance, as well as both its functional and physical attributes. To do this, you will largely focus on the requirements, design, and operational capacity through its lifetime. The ideal candidate will have experience with Configuration Status Accounting (CSA), understanding the process of creating and organizing the knowledge base necessary for the performance of configuration management.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Configuration Management Engineer:

CSA activities such as; capture data about the product and product configuration information as the product evolves through its life cycle; retrieve current, accurate information concerning change decisions, design changes, investigations of design problems; access to complete product configuration information; and historical traceability of product configuration and product configuration information.

  • Manage and approve requirement changes and define the change control processes for requirements and manufacturing parameter changes
  • Manage the definition of interface requirements and their verification
  • Utilize SAP-ERP to manage, control, and monitor authority material configuration
  • Perform compliance and traceability assessments and be able to report key metrics and issues effectively to program leadership and stakeholders
  • Lead in establishing requirements and verification Configuration Management structure
  • Assess and document proposed configuration changes
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements
  • Manage the engineering change process for drawings, parts lists and BOMs (bill of materials).
  • Assist in creation and implementation of new strategies to improve the efficiency of design change implementation.
  • Create, update and manage configuration training documentation
  • Maintain standards for part numbering schemes.
  • Responsible for the product as-built configuration and serialization.
  • Execute multiple projects at the same time and provide effective communication to colleagues and area management.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Project Management to efficiently submit documents to internal and external parties.
  • Maintain appropriate filing structure to keep archived material identified, secure, and easily retrievable when needed.
  • Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
