Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Hamilton, Ohio

Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in the Non-Profit industry, based in Hamilton, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including payroll preparation, maintenance of personnel records, and providing administrative support to the executive staff.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out the processing of payroll and upkeep of related reports

• Handle the payables for the HR Department

• Stand in for the HR Director in processing PERS reports when necessary

• Ensure the accuracy and currency of personnel information such as employee licenses and vehicle insurance

• Attend all Commission meetings, acting as recording secretary for the Board of Commissions

• Type and distribute Board minutes and resolutions, while maintaining related records

• Prepare, organize and distribute materials needed for Board meetings and Commissioner packets

• Post legal notices as required by law

• Draft Authority correspondence and maintain associated files

• Oversee the distribution of mail

• Adhere to all policies and procedures, demonstrating regular and predictable attendance

• Attend workshops or seminars related to duties performed when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role within the Non-Profit industry.

• Proficiency in a range of accounting functions, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and procedures.

• Demonstrated experience in auditing, with a focus on identifying discrepancies and ensuring compliance.

• Familiarity with benefit functions, including understanding of benefits-related legislation and ability to handle employee benefits inquiries.

• Proven experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP), including processing payments and maintaining up-to-date records.

• In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, with the ability to process payroll accurately and efficiently.

• Strong administrative skills, including record keeping, data entry, and managing correspondence.
