LOCATION: HAMDEN, CT AREA (HYBRID - 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote)

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager based in the Hamden, CT area with an established and well-funded Non-Profit Education Institution. In this role, you will be performing and overseeing general accounting functions as a key part of the finance team. This role is instrumental in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the Organization's operations.
Responsibilities:
• Record monthly journal entries as required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile Balance Sheet and P& L Accounts, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Manage the Fixed Asset Accounting process, ensuring all assets are correctly recorded and depreciated.
• Handle bank account reconciliation, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
• Assist with the Month End Close.
• Supervise and review the work of accounting staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role
• Proven skills in Month End Close process
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
• Experience in creating and maintaining Journal Entries
• Strong skills in Bank Account Reconciliation
• Expertise in Fixed Asset Accounting
• Familiarity with accounting software and programs
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
