What you will do

As the Manager – External Warehouse Logistics, you will be a first line manager and leader of your own department with 20-40 team members. You will report directly to a second line manager referred to as an Area Manager. You will support the short and mid-term success of the function and the plant. You will be exposed to various areas of the operation and be given special assignments and projects to develop your knowledge of the Volvo’s business, lean manufacturing and leadership skills. The organization you will be a part of has approximately 200 employees today.

Main activities and responsibilities for this role:

• Inspire and motivate your team to work together to reach set safety, quality, delivery and financial targets while collaborating with various organizational departments.

• Assess performance, competencies, and flexibility of employees within the department and initiate appropriate training, counselling, or corrective action to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the employees

• Execute the implementation of Volvo Performance System (VPS).

• Apply as a standardized way of working, develop the organization, and achieve contribution from all employees.

• Full accountability and ownership of your team’s development, UAW relations, project follow up, midterm road map (0-1 year) and policy deployment from plant to operator level.

Candidates are required to have previous leadership experience.

Preferred candidates have a Bachelors Degree in a relevant field and/or demonstrated leadership experience in a warehousing/distribution environment
