Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, it provides technical direction to the Maintenance Technicians and performs maintenance functions (preventive, corrective, predictive, and/or calibrations), repair and "troubleshooting" of all manufacturing equipment, utilities and/or facilities to ensure the efficient operation of such equipment.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates and/or performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities, calibrations according to the established plan and assigns tasks to technicians.
Documents, reconciles, and/or reviews the technical documentation that supports the tasks carried out and that must be documented in the "Computerized Maintenance Management System" (CMMS).
Provides technical assistance and trains Technicians in the different technologies to optimize the operation and maintenance of equipment.
Provides support in the introduction of new products through technical support to the processes and technologies that apply.
Performs "troubleshooting" on the production equipment/systems, utilities and/or facilities, in areas of competence such as: Instrumentation and Electronics, Industrial mechanics, Electricity, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, PLC and Computers, Servo Motors and “Variable Frequency Drives” (VFD).
Reads and interprets electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings to assist in repairs and/or modifications of systems and equipment.
Participate in the shift change process of the group of maintenance technicians including the generation and distribution of the activity report daily maintenance.
Makes sure to follow safety procedures (LOTO, spaces confinement, vertical fall prevention, electrical safety, etc.) and provides assistance and mentorship to Maintenance Technicians and/or contractors external with this requirement.
Intermediate/general skills in computer systems such as “Microsoft Office”, process control systems and CMMS.
Collects and analyzes downtime data and directly supports recovery plans.
Supports and/or performs Vibration Analysis, Infrared Thermography and Ultrasound, interprets trend reports and translates the results into action plans.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Technical Degree in Electricity, Industrial Mechanics, Refrigeration, Electronics, and/or any related technical field is required.
A minimum of an minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electricity, Industrial Mechanics, Instrumentation, Electronics and/or any related technical field is preferred.
At least five (5) years of experience in the regulated industry is required.
PC literacy including MS Office and use of other software and applications is required.
Basic Metrology, Basic Statistics, Analytic Troubleshooting (ATS), Technical Writing and Good Documentation Practices are required.
Experience in Parenteral, Sterile Pharmaceutical Operations Plants, Aseptic Complexes and/or Isolator Systems is preferred.
License in Electricity, Instrumentation, Refrigeration or Electronics is preferred.
Knowledge in clean utilities is preferred.
Verbal and written communication skills in English is preferred.
Knowledge in MAXIMO is preferred.
Availability to work a 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, and 4th shift (12 hours). Must be able to work extra hours, at night or on weekends and irregular shifts.
