WorldNet Telecommunications Construction Project Inspector in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico

We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and take Affirmative Action to recruit Women, Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.SUMMARYResponsible for all phases of cable construction in a manner consistent with WorldNet Cable policies, procedures, quality work standards, customer needs, and applicable local, state and federal regulations. Responsible for leading day to day activities of the field personnel assigned & assist Project Manager with duties as assigned. Projects include day to day maintenance, commercial and new builds.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.□Monitors progress of all assigned construction projects.□Assign daily tasks to WorldNet fiber technicians.□Ensures the fiber technicians follow company policies, such as code of conduct, IT security, etc…□Monitors and verifies the fiber technicians are in compliance of safety procedures to include: OSHA and NESC standards.□On call duty for fiber repairs and restoration.□Issue work to in-house and contractor crews. Review work on completion to ensure project is completed according to specifications.□Provide fiber construction cost estimates based on scope of work.□Responsible for working with and leading contractors, preparing detailed work prints, writing Job Cost estimates, and crafting a bill of materials (BOM) for aerial and underground projects.□Provides necessary reports such as budgetary and weekly production reports.□Responsible for marking WorldNet’s Network Plant by Government Agency (Centro de Excavaciones) procedure request. □Project coordination and inspection of the entire construction process to include preliminary site reviews, work in progress and post construction inspection.□Other functions may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE□Associate degree and 3+ years demonstrated and related work experience in aerial and underground cable plant or telephone construction.or□5+ years demonstrated and related work experience in aerial and underground cable plant or telephone construction.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES□Bilingual (Spanish and English).□Deep understanding of equipment characteristics, capabilities and limitations, design alternatives and other factors, including field situations and practices, past and current, which influence system design. □Knowledge of drafting techniques and principles. □Ability to use common drafting tools, instruments, ladders and scaffolding. □Ability to maintain neat orderly record. □Ability to use and interpret OTDR measurement.□Valid driver’s license.□Ability to work well with people and possess positive interpersonal skills.
