What You'll Do:

Serta Simmons Bedding, a leading manufacturer in the bedding industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to oversee operations at our Grovetown, GA facility.

n this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring the highest quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our Lean manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing production teams, optimizing processes, and delivering on key performance indicators in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

How You'll Do It:

  • Lead manufacturing production to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of quality products.

  • Drive Lean methodologies to improve performance, safety, and quality continuously.

  • Ensure operator and work area safety; maintain product quality standards in collaboration with ME, QE, and KPO.

  • Achieve outstanding performance in on-time delivery (>99.5%) and efficiency (>95%) through problem-solving and effective coordination with supply chain partners.

  • Hold daily production meetings, set expectations, and communicate with office staff on schedule and product status.

  • Maintain daily management information and prepare reports as requested.

  • Control raw material use and labor to minimize waste, excess hours, and overtime.

  • Implement and maintain Lean processes, Kaizen, and other quality initiatives.

  • Escalate unresolved issues to ensure performance, quality, and safety standards.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop work teams, meeting training and development objectives.

  • Exhibit strong leadership: inspire, impact, and innovate.

  • Adapt to and promote change, motivating personnel to embrace it.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Deliver results with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Foster a team-oriented environment, providing mentorship and support for long-term career growth.

  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical field with 3-5 years of leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment.

  • Or: Associate's degree (Engineering/Technical focus) with 5-15 years of leadership experience and clear career progression.

  • Or: 15+ years of leadership experience in heavy manufacturing (non-degreed candidates).

  • Active role involving frequent walking through manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution areas.

  • High risk management required due to safety concerns around large machinery and heavy products (up to 200 lbs).

  • Up to 10% travel required.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
