Job Title: Retrofit Operations Manager

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continue to project manage assigned projects.

  • Assist in improving the operational systems, processes, and policies supporting Mesa’s mission.

  • support better day-to-day operations.

  • increase information flow between the group and management.

  • review/propose business process and organizational planning for the Retrofit group.

  • Help to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Project Managers and Project coordinators.

  • help to find improvements to each function.

  • help to increase coordination and communication between support and field functions.

  • Involved in assigning projects to project managers/project teams as required.

  • Helped project managers/project teams resolve customer issues.

  • Track & Evaluate personnel performance and convey those evaluations to the “Director of Retrofit” for annual performance review.

  • Actively monitor training opportunities for retrofit personnel

  • Provide input for processes to eliminate deficiencies.

  • Assist in resolving issues with other departments (Sales, accounting, payroll, etc.)

  • Assist the Director of Retrofit and HR with recruiting and interviewing new applicants for the Retrofit group.

  • Mentor new personnel to ensure a positive long-term future and positive payback on new hire investment.

  • Day to Day guidance & support with field challenges

  • Participate in long-term planning and directives toward operational excellence.

  • Review retrofit projects to maintain annual booked gross profits or higher, excellent execution & proper closing out of projects.

  • Oversee closing out of projects to ensure closeout documents are provided to the customer.

  • Assist with Annual reviews of retrofit personnel.

  • Support the project review process and work with our in-house Cost Accountants to ensure projects are appropriately managed for profitability and accurate scheduling

  • Support accurate accounting requirements as far as purchase orders, invoices, p-cards, billing, payables & receivables, etc.

  • Maintain smooth working relationships with other operational departments and their managers such as The Director of Applied Services, Director of Integration, Facilities Director, Director of Sales and Service Managers.

  • Maintain smooth relationship with sales, including the review of bid temps, proposals, and scheduling requirements.

  • Lead by example with a positive attitude among project managers

  • Mentor project managers.

  • Sign off authority up to $100,000

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

  • 10+ years’ experience in retrofit projects.

  • 5+ years’ experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.

  • Business and management principles and practices knowledge.

  • Combined knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices

  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices is a plus.

Compensation Range: $145,000 - $160,000 per year
