Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 280-bed acute care campus located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric and critical care services.

In March 2012, the Cotton Family Birth Center at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital was designated a Baby-Friendly® (http://www.babyfriendlyusa.org/) birth center by Baby-Friendly USA. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is also home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center (https://www.beaumont.org/health-wellness/press-releases/anderson-supports-leading-edge-surgical-center-at-beaumont-grosse-pointe) , a leading-edge, hybrid surgical suite offering advanced learning, technological advancements and a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches.

Scope to Work

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in the technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.

This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credential is required .

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements: Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program and/or significant clinical experiences as determined by the department.

  • Preferred requirements: Bachelor’s degree

  • Preferred: Minimum of two years (full-time) experience in the performance of all cardiac ultrasound procedures for adults.

  • RDCS or CCI (no exemption accepted, must pass both parts of exam) status is required by department.

  • Required: BCLS

  • Analytical problem-solving is essential to optimize and enhance image acquisition for physician’s interpretation.

  • Computer literacy is required.

  • Professionalism and communication/interpersonal skills are critical.

  • Cooperative, team oriented, flexible, and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude are qualities essential to successfully fulfill job responsibilities.
