Spectrum Systems Engineer IV- Cloud Architect in Greenwood Village, Colorado

JOB SCOPE
Leads in the planning, design, development, implementation, and execution of innovative application and platform solutions related to security, service delivery, OSS, and BSS systems across our public cloud footprint. Drives identification and adoption of best-in-class operational practices and procedures across a multidimensional, high complexity back-office space for business-as-usual tasks, deployment, incident management, monitoring and detection, capacity planning, forecasting, resiliency, hardening, and DR/HA. Designs and establishes corporate operational playbooks, standard operating procedures, develops and implements platform enhancements and makes recommendations for improvements. Leads implementation of approved application and cloud architecture designs and security solutions. Leader in staff development efforts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Design, deploy, manage, and ensure stability of Charter’s public cloud application and platform ecosystem and related back-office infrastructure to provide network security, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability to effectively and efficiently support mission critical business systems.
Demonstrate a high level of competence in cloud operations, application monitoring, deployment and configuration management, availability and performance optimization, capacity management and forecasting, cloud computing, datacenter operations troubleshooting critical issues, and coordination of implementation.
Represent the Engineering Department working closely with Architects and Engineers in designing, modeling, and implementing new technologies.
Become a trusted partner of engineering teams through the delivery of excellent customer service and knowledge that will allow our business to grow.
Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and resolve major system issues.
Lead and participate in architectural discussions and decision-making processes for design, redesign, and operational efficiencies as business objectives and strategies evolve to ensure alignment with business goals and best practices.
Document architectural designs, configurations, and implementation guidelines for reference and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to developing and maintaining cloud governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to optimize cloud spending and manage budgets effectively.
Document project requirements including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with highest level of quality on time and within budget.
Mentor and train other Engineering personnel in key elements of cloud architecture prInciples, cloud systems, best practices, and technologies and provide technical presentations to instruct co-workers and other production services support individuals.
Research and identify technology opportunities and application to the business.
Test and validate all new software for proper configuration and performance.
Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Knows, understands and follows company policy.
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications
Minimum six (6) years of System or Server Administration experience
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, applications, and trends.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software application, and design.
Experience using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or other major cloud computing services.
Strong cloud migration and data management skills with an emphasis on data privacy and security.
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Systems knowledge (Linux, Unix)
Ability to work in a team environment
In-depth knowledge in areas of specialty for specific applications, and general knowledge of supporting or integrating applications creating platform ecosystems.
Basic Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model
Expert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
Expert knowledge of software designing software, such as LucidChart or Visio
Ability to perform duties in a very fast paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
General knowledge of OSI stack and application architectures
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of company products and services
AWS
GCP
SplunkLinux, Unix, or other system administration certification are helpful

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
