Merrick & Company Senior Civil Designer - DOD Projects in Greenwood Village, Colorado

OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company's High Performance Facilities team is seeking a Civil Designer for our Greenwood Village, CO office to support a variety of national defense projects from multi-building campuses to secure facilities, from mission critical to mission support projects to local infrastructure projects. From the reaches of the southern and northern hemispheres to training and operations facilities in multiple states and foreign countries, Merrick designs and delivers sustainable solutions to meet Government needs for resiliency, readiness, and reliability. Basic office hours are 8:00 am MT to 5:00 pm MT, Monday thru Friday and is a hybrid schedule. Occasional overtime could be needed with short notice. This position may also require some minimal travel. Typical annual pay range for this position is $39.00 - $49.00 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience WHAT YOU'LL DO

Complete non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of limited scope or portion of a larger, more complex project. Follow general outline of project objectives, requirements, and design approaches prescribed by staff. Coordinate work activities to meet schedules and ensures quality of product. Receive general guidance but operate independently with the ability to be self-directed and to perform project tasks with little oversite. Develop, select, and recommend procedures for preparation of designs/reports under general guidance. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of engineering, architecture, planning, surveying, or administrative techniques. Be able to act as fill in for engineer on meetings, be able to do site walk downs, and be able to field calls from vendors and from contractors May direct and coordinate/manage the activities of and be able to mentor other staff members (designers and cad operators). Ability to consistently demonstrate strong communication with teammates on project and team related tasks. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must be proficient in Civil 3D Must have a minimum of ten (10) years' experience or equivalent education/experience The client projects for this position require United States Citizenship. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with DOD work Experience with DOE work Experience with Design/Build projects Previous experience with Micro-Station Willingness to assist and mentor less experienced designers and engineers with C3D related topics. Local candidates preferred PERKS
