Job Description:

ITW Hartness is looking for a Quality Technician. This individual will work as part of the Hartness Quality team to conduct inspections and audits based on the quality standards and company specifications. Individuals in this role will also work with manufacturing and assembly to facilitate corrective actions on any quality and production issues identified. Quality technicians will collaborate with engineers, team leads, and supervisors, to ensure quality standards are in place and being implemented.

What you will do:

• You will perform detailed mechanical inspection of all parts and / or assemblies

• You will review drawings and specifications to compare to parts and product received

• You will visually inspect coloring and coatings of parts based on routing

• You will locate and measure dimensions such as overall length, width, diameter, angles, and holes

• You will ensure that all engineering drawings provide the necessary clarity for manufacturability and inspection

• You will ensure that all non-conforming parts and assemblies are identified, quarantined, and documented

• You will communicate vendor and outsource vendor performance to ensure quality

• You will communicate with other departments for all questionable and / or non-conforming parts

• You will implement methods and procedures for inspecting and evaluating the precision and accuracy of all products

• You will partner with engineering and team leads to resolve issues in a timely manner

• You will review daily list of parts for due dates to ensure on time delivery

• Assist with 80/20 projects

• Other duties as assigned

• High School degree (or equivalent) and 3 years of related work experience OR associate degree in a related field

• Familiar with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) to be able to create reports and send/receive emails

• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematic

• Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Proficient math and measuring skills

• Welding and Machine shop experience is a plus

• Being detail-oriented

• Ability to use attribute gages, all basic and specialized measuring instruments

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good organizational, time management, and prioritization skills

• Ability to stand or walk for an entire shift

• Capable of lifting 35lbs
