What impact you’ll make?

The ITR Engineer in Conversions, Modifications, and Uprates (CM&Us) Services projects is indeed pivotal, overseeing technical aspects from customer inquiry (ITO) through to the execution phase (OTR). In application engineering (ITO), their role is to create technically sound solutions for potential projects, addressing customer needs even before an order is placed. Once a customer order is confirmed, they switch to requisition engineering (OTR), taking on the comprehensive technical management to ensure projects align with GE’s design standards, reliability expectations, and service quality. The ITR engineer must interact actively with other teams such as Design Engineering, Sales, Project Management, Field Services and Supply chain.

Job Description

What you'll do

  • Leading the project lifecycle from ITO to OTR, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.

  • Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the ITO (Inquiry to Order) process while interfacing with the commercial and sales teams. This includes a technical analysis of client need: definition and optimization of the products; scope; schedule; industrial scheme; cost, considering contract and internal policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for interpreting customer needs and defining the parts scope of supply and input for cost and cycle for assigned technical proposals

  • Participate and lead continuous improvement activities such maintenance or development of assigned TAG (technical application guideline) codes.

  • Responsible for successful execution of the engineering and related downstream activities for the overall CM&U order/project.

  • Provide appropriate solutions to developing technical issues arising during CM&U project.

  • Utilize standardized tools and process to set up project structure within different GE systems.

  • Create and coordinate the overall engineering and drafting deliverable schedule using Enovia PLM software. Manage changes over the lifecycle of the project to ensure timely delivery to support parts delivery, outage activities, or other downstream work.

  • Ensure timely demand placement of parts designed and defined by engineering teams.

  • Author Field Modification Instruction (FMI) documentation

  • Integrate with Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing and Sourcing, Vendors, Service Shops and other teams as necessary to ensure a successful project.

  • Keep attention to the overall project schedule and budgeted hours. Address and correct deviations as they arise.

  • Support other team members both domestically and globally.

  • Provide timely and accurate responses to technical inquiries using technical files (such as Design Data, Previous Reports, etc.), personal experience/knowledge and information from other technical experts as necessary.

  • Complete project closeout activities including gathering feedback and data to support continuous improvement.

  • Support customer meetings, State of the Art Conferences, GE and Industry conferences when requested.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related engineering/science (or equivalent knowledge/experience).

Other Eligibility

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally occasionally > less then 10% of the time.

For U.S. based candidates only , for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $98,400-$164,000 USD Annual.,

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive (VIC) bonus of 10% .

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
