Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description

A Geotechnical Engineering Technician supports geotechnical engineers by conducting field investigations, performing soil and rock tests, and preparing detailed reports. They assist in designing geotechnical structures and ensure construction projects meet specifications. This role involves both fieldwork and laboratory testing, requiring an associate degree in geotechnical engineering or a related field, along with experience in geotechnical instrumentation and testing procedures. Proficiency in geotechnical software and strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform site observations of earthwork, utility backfill, excavations, and foundation construction.

• Conduct construction material testing and special inspections.

• Collect samples and perform tests to monitor compliance with construction specifications.

• Travel to job sites using company vehicles and interact with Design Team, Building Officials, Contractors, and Clients.

• Complete technical reports.

• Coordinate with Project Managers providing constant communication when on site.

Essential Skills

• Experience in geotechnical instrumentation and testing procedures.

• Proficiency in geotechnical software.

• Strong communication skills.

• Construction experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree in geotechnical engineering or a related field.

• ACI field concrete testing certification.

• Radiation safety certification.

Work Environment

Report to office/lab, but 90% of the job will be in the field on construction sites. This role involves significant interaction with various stakeholders and requires traveling to job sites.
