OVERVIEW :
The Calibration Technician tests, calibrates, adjusts and maintains measurement, indicating and control instrumentation to meet established conformance standards using instructions from equipment manufacturers and Standard Operating Procedures developed by the Metrology department. Perform continuous monitoring of instruments status and condition, identifies instruments needing repair or replacement and places orders as necessary. Maintain all logs and required documentation. Provide assistance to Project Engineering department for the implementation/execution of process improvement projects.
KEY ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform instrument calibration on a timely and efficient manner as per calibration program schedule. Repair, troubleshoot, install, remove and calibrate if necessary instrumentation or equipments that are reported as defective and are affecting the manufacturing or lab operations. Assist the Project Engineering Department to plan, design and execute process enhancement initiatives (projects) requiring calibration technicians expertise. Perform required testing, installation, debugging, etc. Assist in writing and updating Metrology department SOP's and other related documentation. Coordinates with outside vendors for external calibrations and repairs.
HOURS: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
SCOPE OF POSITION:

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Metrology and Engineering departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Two years technical degree in Instrumentation Technology or Electronics preferred or Military education in electronics.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years working with critical instrumentation (testing and control) preferably from FDA regulated industry. Knowledge of computerized calibration management software and PLC's preferred and Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Skills: Strong computer skills. Able to work from SOPs, manuals, drawings or sketches and verbal instructions. Able to use manual and power electronics repair tools and diagnostic instrumentation skillfully as well as typical mechanic's hand tools.
