THIEL COLLEGE Administrative Assistant to Financial Aid in Greenville, Pennsylvania

Thiel College is seeking an exceptional individual for the role of Assistant Director of Financial Aid.  The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience working in financial aid, higher education, or in a document-based, analytical, or financial organizational setting.

Essential Job Functions:   • Complete origination and disbursement of financial aid applications and awards for graduate and undergraduate students in compliance with Department of Education regulations. • Responsible for packaging, verification, and evaluation of students' files in compliance with federal, state and institutional policies and regulations. • Provide financial aid advisement and customer service to students and families. • Conduct financial literacy education and outreach programs. • Compile spreadsheets and analyze financial reporting. • Serve on financial aid committees throughout campus. • Manage student employment and work-study program. • Process Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) forms and program payments. • Collaborate with other campus departments, such as Admissions, Student Accounts, Registrar, and Residence Life. • Serve as the school certifying official for veteran's education benefits. • Process collection agency accounts. • Manage tuition exchange/remission students.

Additional Responsibilities • Ability to conduct financial aid presentations in group settings. • Non-traditional work hours, such as evenings and/or weekends may be necessary. • Attend professional development as requested/required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Efficient office procedures and current technology. • Microsoft Office • Interpersonal and written communication. • Exercising discretion and independent judgment. • Using tact, patience, and courtesy. • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, initiative and independence. • Work with confidential and sensitive information.

Education and Experience:  Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
