PPD, the clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific, has an opening for a Senior Digital Testing Engineer .

This role is a key player in the PPD Patient First Digital Solutions (PFDS) department. As an expert in the field, you will be responsible for leading testing efforts during the technology implementation process for electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA) and other clinical trial technology solutions being utilized in clinical trial application. Your role is to ensure high standards of operational excellence, consistency, quality, and innovation. By effectively utilizing different testing methodologies, you will contribute to the successful delivery of top-notch digital solutions that directly enhance health outcomes for individuals and communities.

About the Position:

  • Review technical requirements and provide analysis on testing approach and content for the project's technology deployment.

  • Lead test planning, documentation, execution, error reporting, analysis, and verification.

  • Collaborate with the Digital group and business test groups to support quality and acceptance testing.

  • Conduct regression testing according to our control guidelines.

  • Attend design meetings to understand technology requirements and prepare for testing.

  • Provide support for existing business applications, end user training, and documentation.

  • Contribute to internal process and system enhancements.

  • Adhere strictly to established software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology and internal controls governing Change Management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

  • Previous experience with electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA) and other clinical trial technology solutions that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years’ experience)

  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional experience with system testing and writing test documentation, including script writing.

  • Strong understanding of testing processes and SDLC.

  • Previous system testing experience with digital technology, specifically eCOA.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with IT Developers on system enhancements and new functionalities.

  • Confident self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Well-structured and attentive to detail, with a quick grasp of new concepts and software.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.

  • Skilled in organizing and presenting information in clear and concise formats.

The salary range estimated for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 USD. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
