Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. (HYMH), a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Data Governance Manager based at our Greenville, NC location .
What you will do:
Data Governance Council leadership
Lead the creation of and provide overall management of the Data Council.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders owning the key areas of Data Ownership.
Lead the creation and management of the data, analytics, and algorithm governance program.
Define a decision framework that encompasses information policies and standards enabling successful business outcomes with big data and analytics.
Enterprise-Wide Data Governance
- Roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture.
Master Data Management (MDM)
- Lead and define policies specific to Master Data Management and lead the MDM program within HYMH.
Information Stewardship
Influence the business teams to understand and support information ownership within the business teams globally.
Act as trustees of data (information, analytics, or algorithms) and increasingly advocate its better usage.
Have an intimate knowledge of business processes and data usage and will ultimately be responsible for the enforcement of the information governance program.
Understand the role and value of information, processes, and analytic outcomes.
Enforce the information governance policy.
The primary functions will include:
Monitoring the current state of data quality and process integrity within the scope of their responsibility
Business process improvement for how the business uses and exploits information.
Data Quality
Align data quality with business objectives.
Identify high-value use cases.
Assess the maturity of the organization's existing data quality and MDM programs.
Assess the state of information quality and current issues using appropriate frameworks, document quality problems and create remediation plans.

What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field
7+ years of data management, and or data governance experience.
2+ years of experience leading teams.
Knowledge of data modeling and architecture principles and techniques.
Proven success with systems, data, and innovative digital endeavors.
Skills, Experience & Abilities
People management experience
Extensive data management experience, including in-depth knowledge of data modeling, data integration, data configuration, and general database concepts
Ability to determine best ways to improve the quality of existing data and ensure that those guidelines are carried through to new data as well
Ability to define data governance policies and educate all the necessary stakeholders
Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments; especially with IT, supporting the development and implementation of changes including issue resolution and planning for enhancements and upgrades, including new data sources.
Very strong analytical skills, both with a mind to the business side and more technical IT info.
