WESTMORELAND County Blind Association Production Center Supervisor in GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania

Summary

The Production Center Supervisor oversees visually impaired employees and intellectually disabled consumers in the production and assembly of products that meet demanding specifications from our customer base. Individuals holding this position must be able to work with visually impaired and intellectually disabled employees while maintaining efficient work systems and appropriate attention to costs, inventory control, production, and quality. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting production quotas
  • Responsible to ensure quality control
  • Responsible to ensure efficiency by implementing lean manufacturing systems
  • Orders all components of each specific product line
  • Maintain a safe and harassment free workplace
  • Maintain all equipment used on all production lines
  • Train employees to perform manufacturing tasks
  • Motivate employees and set performance goals and standards
  • Adapt work processes to accommodate intellectually and visually impaired employees
  • Train and counsel employees to support the visually impaired and intellectually disabled consumers
  • Evaluate employee qualifications and appraise performance
  •  Perform general recordkeeping (Inventory records, Timeforce, KPI's for Management Review Meetings, Corrective and Preventative worksheet, Employee Call-Offs or PTO)
  • Responsible for inspecting received goods (quantity is correct, visually inspecting for damage) for your specific area
    • Notify the customer/vendor so a corrective action plan can be implemented when the quantity expected is not correct or there is damage to any components
  • Responsible for all shipments pertaining to your area
    • Responsible to oversee proper shipping guidelines
    • Complete an invoice and submit to the Accounting Department
  • Ensuring internal communication is conveyed with any changes or updates on the department
  • Perform manufacturing operations as needed to ensure steady production and work in progress movement
  • Assign daily job duties to employees based on the customer requirements and adhering to deadlines set forth
  • Participate in opportunities for new prospects
  • Participate on the production line as needed

Education/Experience

  • Three or more years serving as a supervisor or project manager with practical experience in lean manufacturing systems
  • Must have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package
  • Associate Degree in Business, Manufacturing or related field
