VF Corporation Lead Analyst, SAP Compliance in Greensboro, North Carolina

Lead Analyst, SAP Compliance:

As VF Corporation continues to develop and mature its overall Digital Technology (DT) SOX Compliance program, we are creating the position of Lead Analyst, SAP Compliance, which will report into the Senior Manager, SAP Compliance.

This position will have specific compliance responsibilities for VF’s Global SAP environment under the oversight of the Senior Manager, SAP Compliance who is responsible for the overall SAP DT internal controls strategy for VF.

This position will be responsible for partnering with the Senior Manager, SAP Compliance and the Senior Manager, SOX Compliance to maintain the DT internal controls strategy for SAP to ensure the right balance for an effective, efficient, and compliant internal controls environment with resources and costs.

This position will be responsible for providing guidance to the DT organization on IT controls for SAP across compliance areas, performing certain control operational activities for SAP across the DT organization, acting on deficiency remediation activities and timelines within the SAP environment, and providing guidance to SAP security and GRC teams on compliance considerations for various projects and tasks.

The position will also be responsible for performing periodic SAP security health checks across the SAP landscape to ensure ongoing compliance with VF security standards and guidance.

The position will also participate in activities around DT internal and external audits with a focus on SAP controls.

The position will be involved in determining impacts of mergers and acquisitions on the SAP landscape and be responsible for ensuring compliance risks are mitigated. As the DT compliance teams continue to pursue automated controls to reduce manual effort, the position will also assist in design and provide guidance to help achieve those goals while maintaining compliance.

The lead analyst will also be responsible for assessing current state control technical configuration and process designs to identify opportunities and implement solutions for further automation/performance tuning and process optimization.

The position is also expected to mentor and train junior staff on technical advances as well as current and new features of the GRC platform.

Roles and Responsibilities

DT Control Implementation, Facilitation, Monitoring and Reporting Activities with focus on SAP environments

  • Partners with the DT Compliance teams to execute on the DT internal controls strategy for SAP.

  • Monitors the operation of DT SAP controls to ensure an effective IT internal controls environment.

  • Partners with Global Internal Controls, SOX coordinators, DT Project Management Office (PMO) and other DT stakeholders, under the supervision of the DT Compliance Leadership Team, to understand initiatives that have an impact to DT controls for SAP.

  • Collaborates with DT Control owners on the design of new controls, or changes to existing ones, as new SAP applications are scoped in, or changed, always considering a balanced controls framework strategy.

  • Collaborates with DT stakeholders to ensure proposed controls for SAP are designed and implemented to start operating by agreed upon timelines.

  • Identifies improvement opportunities for SAP SOX compliance processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining a high standard of controls.

DT Internal Testing and External Audit Participation

  • Participates in meetings with testers and auditors for the duration of the audit to discuss IT audit progress and any identified deficiencies in the SAP environment.

  • Facilitates running reports or extracts in response to inquiries related to SAP compliance testing.

  • Participates in discussions with DT stakeholders around SAP deficiencies identified by internal testing or external auditors and drives proposed action plans.

DT Control Gaps Remediation

  • Assists in drafting of action plans and timelines to be discussed with appropriate DT stakeholders for SAP control deficiencies identified during management, internal or external audit testing.

  • Collaborates with DT stakeholders to ensure agreed upon action plans are implemented by timeline.

  • Monitors completion of action plans and ensures activities being implemented are sufficient to remediate deficiencies and effectively close control gaps.

SAP Security Assistance and Business Collaboration

  • Collects data and performs analysis to ensure that VF’s global SAP environments adhere to documented SAP security standards. Provides risk-based recommendations for gap remediation and standards improvements.

  • Works with business teams to evaluate the business risk of SAP security changes in their area. Provides guidance on SAP technical concepts for compliance oriented issues or questions.

Control Process Improvement

  • Continually assesses control design and configuration for improvement opportunities, pursuing a strategy of automation and continuous monitoring to reduce manual intervention in control processes.

  • Participates in control and risk process automation efforts involving SAP and non-SAP tools and processes.

M&A Activities

  • Collaborates with Global Internal Controls and DT management under the supervision of the DT SOX Compliance Leadership Team to understand the impacts of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) activities and associated impact to DT controls for SAP

  • Assists with the development of plans to ensure that DT compliance risks for SAP associated with M&A activities are appropriately mitigated

  • Collaborates with Global Internal controls to discuss risks, mitigation activities and any items needing approval.

Years of Related Professional Experience: 5

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Technology, or a related discipline or relevant years of experience.

  • Proven understanding of IT SOX controls, control operations, SOX deficiency management and impacts to overall SOX audit

  • 3+ years of experience in Audit, SOX Compliance, Consulting including experience with establishing process or controls enablement OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with SAP security auditing, including expert knowledge of SAP GRC and its component modules (ARM, BRM, EAM, UAR and ARA)

  • Expert knowledge of SAP security as it applies to different SAP products (e.g., SAP S/4, SAP HANA, SAP CAR, SAP MDG, SAP Solman, SAP Fiori)

  • Proven experience with the application of data analytics concepts. Experience with Diligent One (formerly known as Highbond) and Audit Command Language (ACL) coding a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)

  • Ability to forge close partnerships with DT stakeholders, auditors, and other key business partners

  • Comfortable working with a global team located in the Americas, Asia, and Europe

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently

  • Quick learner with excellent interpersonal and time management skills and is a team player who is highly motivated and detail-oriented

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Hiring Range :

$104,000.00 USD - $130,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
