What you will do
As Group Manager for Power Management and HMI Controls, you will lead the development and implementation of market-leading solutions for diesel, battery-electric, and autonomous vehicles. You will oversee the end-to-end testing and delivery of hardware and software components. The role requires cross-functional collaboration and engagement with many different teams and departments to achieve our targets for features, quality, maintainability and cost, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
You will be responsible for:
Leading, coaching, and developing a strong team of engineers.
Defining roadmaps and driving technical development at the component and system levels.
Ensuring high-quality, on-time, and budget-aligned product delivery.
Building cross-functional relationships to align strategies and support project success.
Developing future workforce plans and strategies to meet emerging needs.\
You’ll report to the Section Manager for System Architecture & Power Management in Greensboro, NC.
Your future team
The Electrical Engineering and Vehicle Connectivity (EEVC) department in Greensboro develops driver electronics and infotainment, vehicle electronics and safety, power management, HMI Control and wiring solutions for Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks. We develop new solutions and maintain these in close cooperation with technology teams and our suppliers in a truly global environment. Our leaders are people focused, value driven, and manage a wide range of development activities. This leadership role requires strong technical experience, networking and communication.
Who are you?
You are an experienced leader with a passion for innovation and team development. You excel in communication, thrive in global collaborations, and have a proven track record in managing complex technical projects. You have strong experience from power management and distribution, electrical components, PCBs, and wiring, as well as ECU’s and software development. Having knowledge and experience in wiring, CAN, LIN and wireless protocols are important. You enjoy people and technology development and continuously strives for development of self and the team. You learn quickly when faced with new issues and take the initiative to solve problems. Our environment is dynamic, fast-paced and requires a positive go-getter attitude.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years in product development, preferably in automotive.
Experience in hardware and software development for electrical systems.
Strong communication skills in English.
Knowledge of systems engineering and quality assurance methods.
Structured, analytical, business-focused and holistic mind-set
Compassionate and willing to mentor and grow a team
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Leadership experience with direct reports.
Experience managing large-scale projects.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
