About our team:

We are an expanding group in engineering at The Raymond Corporation. We support various automation projects from fully automated industrial vehicles to operator assist technologies.

About the position:

We’re looking for an entry level Development Engineer to be responsible for the design and commercialization of new products and sub-systems related to semi-autonomous and fully autonomous industrial vehicles. This role will by employed by The Raymond Corporation and work out of our headquarters in Greene, NY. Some traveling may be needed for the job. You will:

  • Assist/lead system design and system component selection/vetting in support of autonomous vehicle behavior.
  • Create schematic design for system and sub-system.
  • Define harness requirements and support harness routing.
  • Coordinate release of new components selected or designed.
  • Work with third-party suppliers to develop new system components to meet design requirements.
  • Design and perform engineering validation test plan for new system designs.
  • Create FMEA test plan for new designs.
  • Provide support for new product development teams.
  • Work with cross-functional groups at the direction of a Lead Engineer or Program Manager.

About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and able to present technical material to a technically diverse audience.
  • Proficient in windows-based computers and software such Word, Excel, PowerPoint

It would be great if you had:

  • 6 months or more applicable experience.
  • Experience in Creo Schematics.
  • Experience in Creo Parametrics or similar 3D modeling program.
  • Experience with harness design and manufacturing.
  • Experience with Ethernet, CAN network design, and theory.
  • Experience working in a Linux development environment.
  • Experience in networking including Ethernet and CAN including some background in socket programming.
  • Knowledge of interface development between warehouse or manufacturing control systems and third-party software and hardware solutions.
  • Experience in C based software languages and Python.

About the total compensation package:

Salary - $68,000 - $78,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Relocation – This position may qualify for relocation.
