Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a 1st Shift Surface Grinder A to join their team. As a 1st Shift Surface Grinder A, you will be part of the production department supporting the creation of high-quality industrial knives and hardened wear products. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: 1st Shift Surface Grinder A

Location: Greendale, WI

Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 (DOE) per hour

What's the Job?

• Set up, adjust, and operate a surface grinder to achieve required finishes on flat surfaces with multiple dimensions.

• Utilize blocking, aligning, and securing techniques for irregularly shaped workpieces, employing magnetic chucks and sine plates as necessary.

• Dress and change wheels to meet various finish requirements, including radius and angles.

• Assist in the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives.

• Interpret blueprints and utilize inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure precision.

What's Needed?

• High School Diploma or GED; 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Extensive knowledge of Mattison (reciprocating) style surface grinders and general manual machine operations.

• Familiarity with grinding angles, four and six side grinding, and grinding parts square.

• Experience with Blanchard (rotary) style surface grinders is a plus.

• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
