Associate Engineer

Position Summary

The Associate Engineer is responsible for problem solving, document writing and assisting engineering department with workload. The Associate Engineer will be able to identify issues that impact manufacturing and made suggestions for improvement, be able to write documents needed, including change controls, deviations, CAPAs, URS and validation documents.

Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM

The Role

  • Can perform root cause analysis, process improvements, and lead troubleshooting. Ability to discern and recommend best solution among multiple alternatives using information at hand and engineering judgment.

  • Execute small projects (capital or expense). Can perform projects of short to long term focus.

  • Identifies and leads potential process, packaging, utilities and facility improvements. Contributes to process or system improvements across other functional areas.

  • Effectively communicates potential projects, project outcomes, and results through visual, oral, and written forms.

  • Responsible for contributing to investigations into production related deviations of batches, equipment, and facilities to ensure all cGMPs, SOPs, product registrations, and customer requirements are met. Responsible for aiding in the development and execution of CAPAs.

  • Requires a passion for problem solving, attention to detail, good organizational skills, a sound understanding of cGMPs and Manufacturing.

  • Builds solid cross functional relationships and works effectively with the Operations, Quality, Scheduling, Maintenance, and EHS.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Required (preferred mechanical or chemical engineering).

  • Experience working in an engineering capacity, including co-op experience, preferred.

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task with high energy and high efficiency.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain efficiency.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • General computer literacy including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to update and create AutoCAD drawings.

  • Ability to follow direction in a safe and effective manner.

  • Ability to write Validation documents including URS, IQ, OQ and PQ documents as well as writing Change Controls, Deviations and CAPAs.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and develop personal skills.

  • Sustaining static postures.

  • Sustained sitting at desk, workstation, lab or other environment.

  • Static stance/standing as required.

  • Infrequent lifting overhead reaching less than or equal to 15 lbs with the ability to potentially be able to lift up to 35 lbs and push/pull 40 lbs.
