Adecco Healthcare is searching for an Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT/MT) to become part of our client's team in Greencastle, IN - 46135. This is a direct-hire, full-time, and permanent opportunity.
Pay
- $17.35-$26.03
Shift Differential
- Begins at 3pm: $2.50
Shifts Available
Evening
Monday-Friday and 1 Weekend
3pm-11pm (hours vary)
Overnight
Thursday-Wednesday
7 on, 7 off
6pm-6am
Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens, ensuring the accuracy of results through quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical equipment. The MLT evaluates test results within a clinical context, classifies and evaluates blood cells, examines fluids microscopically, and conducts microbial growth analysis. Additionally, the MLT performs antibody screening, prepares donor blood for transfusion, and collects patient specimens. They also handle pre-analytical assessments to identify potential testing interferences and may perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.
No license required. However, eligible to obtain certification such as ASCP or AMT, etc.
Venipuncture and capillary incision experience.
Understanding of MLT functions (setting up molecular testing, plating, wound cultures for positive blood cultures, etc.).
Competent in all general areas of a laboratory.
