Description

Under limited supervision, plan, organize, manage and evaluate assigned tasks, including but not limited to: reliability, safety, company standards, work quality, best practices and environmental management. Oversees the management and maintenance of all electrical equipment related to the Plant and including potential visits to OEM shops and mine sites.

  • Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures for electrical equipment related to crushers, mills, screens and pumps

  • Understand electrical schematics, basic electrical drive theory, and troubleshooting processes

  • Develop and implement electrical processes and procedures and implement with consistency

  • Support site strategic initiatives, and participate as required

  • Provide technical electrical maintenance support for critical production issues

  • Technical expert on electrical standards and company best practices

  • Manage electrical planning and execution

  • Provide technical assistance and recommendations to Plant staff and implement reliability best practices during major fixed plant equipment rebuilds

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new processes and continual improvement ideas

  • Standardize electrical maintenance equipment and procedures for crushers, mills, screens and pump replacements and rebuilds

  • Oversee and manage the budget as related to the electrical department

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience, OR

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience

  • Working knowledge and understanding of fixed plant maintenance including but not limited to the associated processes, workflow and equipment

  • Proficient in VFD troubleshooting, electrical schematic interpretation, maintenance planning and execution

  • Working knowledge and understanding of all electrical and instrument related equipment in a modern concentrator

  • Proficient in MS Office, Word and Excel

  • Skill in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees

  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, direct and manage a diverse number of operational areas, projects and activities

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

  • Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 year accredited apprenticeship in the electrical, instrumentation, and process control trades or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Mine equipment, C/C, Mill, SXEW, and fixed plant chemical processing

  • Previous experience supervising crews, managing crew safety and scheduling work.

  • Experience in utilizing Microsoft Office & Windows

  • Experience utilizing PLC or DCS systems in industrial process

  • Experience with medium/ high voltage power systems

  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics utilizing test equipment, drawings, & manufacturer manuals.

  • Current NFPA 70E certification

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

  • Work requires regular travel within the US and internationally

  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

  • Occasionally, may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

*What We Offer You *

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently  $113,000-$158,000 . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
