NOEL ROBERTO VALLEJO, LLC Farm/Ranch Hand Worker (Temporary) in GREEN RIVER, Utah

Temporary Need: 04/15/24 - 09/30/24. Eight (8) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm/Ranch Hand Workers needed. Requirements: Must be able to lift 75 lbs, drive, and must have12 months of experience. Wage is $16.63/hr. Hours: On-call 24/7. Location: Work will be performed in Green River and Moab in Utah. Duties: The worker will be required to perform a variety of tasks related to the production of hay, grain, corn, pasture, and livestock. General farm work will include the following responsibilities: maintaining, driving, attaching, and operating farm implements/tractors/equipment to till, plant, cultivate, fertilize, and harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery; may mix and/or spray chemicals (in accordance with appropriate restrictive use laws, where/if applicable); eliminate undesirable and excessive growth of crops or agricultural land; paint/repair/maintain farm structures; replace/repair fences; carry out general cleaning of agricultural areas; drive, load/unload trucks; haulage manure; hoist/stack hay bales onto wagons/trucks; operate vehicles, motorcycles, or all-terrain vehicles in the course of performing tasks. Irrigation duties will include the following: Pivots: operation, maintenance and repair system. Plant alfalfa, corn, vegetables and fruit trees. Feed catle and farm animals. Build corrals. Clean out stables and corrals. Monitor their health. The worksite does not currently have workers on strike or being locked out in the course of a labor dipute. We mantains a strong commitent to providing a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. H-2A employee involvement with alcohol and drugs could be extremely dangerous to the employee himself, to all other employees, the general public and third parties, and it is disruptive to the workplace. H2-A herders provide the primary care for hundreds of animals and are presumed to be in safety and security sensitive positions. Any person who is on duty or on standby who is found to use, porssess, or be under the influence of illegal or unauthorized drugs to other illegal mind-altering substances or who uses or is under the influence of illegal or unauthorized drugs or other illegal mind-altering substances or who uses or is under the influence of alcohol to any extent that would impede his ability to perform his or her duties safely and efectively will be terminated. Manufacture, distribution or posession of an illegal drug, or misuse of a presecription drug is also cause for termination. Applicants who are to be employed in the sensitive positions stated above, may be subject to pre-employment and reasonable cause drug and alcohol testing (substance testing) at the employer's expense. Terms and conditions of employment: Employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; the job entails working with farm machinery; will work outdoors in all types of weather and occasional exposure to herding hazards such as poisonous snakes and predators. Must provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. All tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned will be provided at no cost or deposit to the worker. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportati on a d daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer ($16/day, maximum $59/day with reciepts). The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage (AWER) that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (or whichever is the highest rate). This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
