We are looking for an Injection Molding Process Engineer. The Injection Molding Process Engineer is a \"hands-on\" position that plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes and equipment to produce high quality injection molded parts. The Process Engineer is responsible for coordinating the molding efforts on new program launches, setting up and/or revising manufacturing processes and assisting the manufacturing operations in problem solving and continuous process improvements. While monitoring the effectiveness of processes this individual quantifies results, documents and presents findings to management and prepares reports. This position also mentors and provides training to other injection molding personnel.Recent Grads are welcome!! Essential Functions: Develop new processes, assess and document new and existing processes. Implement and evaluate changes to existing processes designed to improve product quality, productivity and overall equipment efficiency. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians, operators and other molding personnel Develop and maintain process documentation ensuring that processes and procedures are clearly stated and understandable for all employees. Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities and improve on part quality Demonstrated ability to start-up, operate and shut down process related equipment. Must be able to work independently on new process development as well as troubleshooting current production issues. Provide team support with internal manufacturing engineering, by providing design feedback and coordination of supply chain needs Support the creation and execution of validation protocols Work with equipment and material vendors to resolve machine and material issues Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, manage to established quality, yield and throughput goals, and continue to drive cost reduction Monitor and report issues with injection molds and presses, make recommendations for refurbishment based on production factors such as cycles, process capability and tooling history. Assist new tooling projects and Engineering Change Requests, schedule sample workload and aid with the sample process and quality inspection measurement plan Assist with training operations staff for production launches Travel to vendor or customer facilities may be required to support business needs Perform internal Moldflow simulations to assist in quoting and new process development Other duties as assigned ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Work experience Required:1-3 years of practical work experience in an Injection Molding Operation. Preferred: Experience in programming and troubleshooting Cartesian 3 axis and 6 axis robots Strong and diverse technical background in injection molding processing, tooling, equipment, materials, manufacturing, and quality. Job skills Demonstrated superior communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and organizational skills. Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with a high level of self-motivation. Process development experiences utilizing design of experiment methodology. Ability to manage multiple start-up projects. Ability to meet project schedules, along with contingency plans. Diverse knowledge of injection molding, tooling, materials, automation, manufacturing, quality, and product design skills Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and recommend options Analyze, and interpret complex documents/drawings Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability solve complex problems.
