Job Summary The Mammography Technologist at Prevea Health performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance to the Radiologist protocols. This role is mainly responsible for conducting mammograms while also supporting general x-ray. What you will do * Performs mammography and general imaging that may include specialty such as Orthopedics. * Position imaging equipment and adjust techniques as appropriate to patient body habitus * Record, process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical record and PACs System. * Completes all image processing procedures and QC testing. Follows Radiologist protocols to ensure images are of diagnostic quality. * Use radiation safety measures and protection devises to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff * Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients\' understanding and address any questions or concerns * Perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing as ordered by providers * Potential to rotate on mobile mammography unit. Education Qualifications * Graduation from an accredited or approved program in Radiological Technology Required Experience Qualifications * 1-3 years Current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology preferably mammography. Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year current clinical experience. Preferred Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and positioning to sufficiently image the area/areas of interest. * Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement. * Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. * Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors. * Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level. * Possess skills to effectively problem solve. * Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone and office equipment. * Possess effective written and verbal communication.
