JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 21065 JOB DETAILS: UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Laboratory Manager POSTING DATE: July 11, 2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position reports to Richard J. Resch School of Engineering Chair and supports faculty who are developing and delivering laboratory-based teaching in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. Candidates having electro-mechanical background are encouraged to apply, however, other areas of engineering will also be considered. This position includes the following responsibilities: -Oversee the engineering laboratories, machine shop, and their equipment. -Assist in purchase, maintenance, upgrade and replacement of the engineering laboratory equipment. -Work with the equipment manufacturer in installation and repair of the engineering laboratory equipment. -Assist in moving of the laboratory equipment when necessary. -Train faculty in usage of the engineering laboratory equipment when necessary. -Assist in capstone projects when necessary. -Work with the faculty (laboratory coordinators) on meeting the needs of their respective teaching laboratories. -Teach engineering laboratory courses in mechanical and electrical engineering. -Assist the faculty in performing any ABET accreditation assessments or reviews pertaining to the engineering laboratories. -Coordinate with local industry when necessary to meet the engineering laboratory needs. -Work in partnership with the Mechanical Engineering Prototype Development Director. -Assist the faculty in their scholarship laboratory needs. SPECIAL NOTES: Position is a full-time, academic year, Academic Staff appointment. Work hours for this position are 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, fully in-person on the UW-Green Bay Campus.
