JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21142 UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Financial Aid Officer POSTING DATE: August 19, 2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position reports to the Financial Aid Assistant Director - Technology & Compliance and evaluates and verifies financial aid applications, assists with reporting to facilitate the awarding of financial aid to qualifying students, triages financial aid processes, and awards financial aid. This position will serve multiple roles within the Financial Aid Office. Duties will include file review and verification, working with students and/or families, as well as being available to discuss or present on financial aid at various on or off campus events. Will assist with awarding various Title IV and State funds, as well as University and external scholarship processing. Accuracy and attention to detail are required. This position includes the following responsibilities: -Audits financial aid applications for awarding financial aid to qualifying students according to established policies and in compliance with federal and state regulations. -Awards financial aid to qualifying students. -Triages processes or applications if issues arise. -Assists in collecting, preparing, and analyzing financial aid data for stakeholders. -Serves as a point of contact to third party stakeholders about financial aid information and processes. -May hire, train, and supervise student employees. SPECIAL NOTES: Some travel may be required for necessary meetings, workshops, conferences, etc. Occasional evening/weekend work may be required and will be assigned by the supervisor as needed. This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule, subject to approved telecommuting request. Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment.
