Weld County Government Adult Protection Supervisor in Greeley, Colorado
Job Description Summary Responsible for directly overseeing the delivery of services provided by adult protection programs to residents in Weld County. Responsible for the direct supervision and development of professional Adult Protection staff and ensures that performance standards are met as identified by County, State or Federal Government guidelines.

The following job duties are established to outline the basic duties and responsibilities of the above captioned position. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Supervision (40%):
Directly supervises a team of Adult Protection staff and oversees their investigations and case management work activities ensuring a high level of performance and compliance with County, State and Federal rules and regulations. Provides leadership, guidance and support to staff by meeting regularly to discuss individual cases and situations. Assists Caseworkers in objectively evaluating case progress and offer additional resources and insight when possible. Enforces standards for quality and quantity of work performed by caseworkers using professional standards set primarily through state rules, statutes and regulations. Ensures case reviews are performed for compliance with established standards. Regularly appraises employee performance using information gained through appropriate data systems, case reviews, client outcomes, observations, and other evaluation. Meets monthly with each employee to discuss areas of performance strength and address any performance concerns. With employee, create work opportunities to develop professional growth and activities that develop or improve skills strengthening employee satisfaction and value. Addresses employee concerns and resolve problems in collaboration with WCDHS Administration and Human Resources. Assists in developing educational and professional development opportunities for staff. Workflow Management (30%):
Monitors and evaluates workflow using knowledge of business functions, APS Program requirements and mandated performance standards to meet required agency goals and timelines. Assigns and schedules work functions within the team using employee's performance and level of skill to assure coverage and efficiency in caseload handling while meeting program goals accurately and timely. Uses data to identify trends in workload volume and adjust workloads accordingly. Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement (20%):
Community Involvement (10%):
Seeks out and actively participates in committees, workgroups or community organizations that are pertinent to current topics or events. Uses participation to promote or maintain the Department's presence in the meetings and gain an understanding of community issues and resources. Collaborates with community partners to identify additional supports within the community and to develop comprehensive support of at-risk adults. Organizes and coordinate community trainings regarding Adult Protective Services. Participates in scheduled supervision, team meetings, unit meetings and division meetings. Performs as an active team member in focus groups and other professional development work groups.
Obtains training or additional professional knowledge when needed.
Required Qualifications Successful completion of bachelor's degree in a human behavior l science field. Four years full time business or office experience involving a high level of customer interaction of which, two years must include professional casework experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency. Candidate must pass WCDHS background checks prior to employment start date. Background checks include a Colorado Adult Protective Services check and CBI/FBI fingerprinting and will continue to be monitored throughout employment. Candidate must possess a driver's license and adequate Liability Insurance by the employment start date and maintain a valid license for the duration of employment. Candidate must provide own transportation and be willing to occasionally travel throughout Weld County. Candidate must possess the ability to learn and apply new computer skills on a regular basis. Candidate must possess knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows and Word, Excel, and Outlook.
