Job Description
Position Summary:
Provide routine food preparation and customer assistance services within the Personalized Recovery Services Program. A Food Service Worker is a professional who prepares/makes food and ensures that the kitchen and dining area are clean and safe.
Essential Accountabilities:
Plans and provides daily lunch menu for the PROS program.
Responsible for food preparation, such as operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks. Operates oven, stove, microwave, coffee makers, other kitchen appliances.
Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations.
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to appropriate location in the kitchen area. Complies with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures.
Refills condiments or other supplies.
Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
Wrapping, date-labeling, and storing food items.
Menu planning and food ordering; may include shopping as needed.
Work with PROS participants in obtaining and practicing food service tasks through teaching, demonstrating, and example.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Director/Supervisor.
Participate in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings, as needed.
Receive supervision by and report to the Program Director/Supervisor.
Function as a vital part of an interdisciplinary team environment.
Responsible for reporting safety issues or concerns that have been brought to their attention.
Job Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalency
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures. Limited Food Manager’s Certificate – may be obtained when hired.
The ability to work as an effective team player with initiative is essential.
