Young Parents Education Center Executive Director in Great Falls, Montana

Job Title: Executive DirectorLocation: Young Parents Education Center, 2400 Central Ave, Great Falls, MT 59401About Us: The Young Parent’s Education Center (YPEC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young parents and their families to pursue educational opportunities and achieve self-sufficiency. With a focus on providing parenting education, family support, and quality childcare services, we strive to create a supportive environment where young parents can thrive and build brighter futures for themselves and their children.Position Description: The Executive Director is a salaried employee whose duty is to develop and execute the organization’s strategic plan and to implement all policies and programs. They will be responsible for providing leadership, overseeing day-to-day operations, and driving the organization's mission and vision forward. The Executive Director is directly accountable to the Board of Directors and is responsible for meeting all fiscal and legal reporting requirements of a Montana-based nonprofit public benefit corporation with a 501(c) 3 tax status. Serving as the executive director of YPEC is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young parents and families in our community.Responsibilities:-Provide strategic leadership to advance the organization's mission.-Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and programs to achieve organizational goals.-Ensure financial stability through effective budgeting, grant writing, fundraising, and grant management.-Oversee all aspects of organizational management, including financial management, fundraising, human resources, and program development.-Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as all applicable administrative rules-Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders, including Great Falls Public Schools (GFPS)-Lead and mentor a dedicated team of staff, promoting professional development and maintaining a positive work environment.-Represent the organization in public forums, advocacy efforts, and community partnerships to promote awareness and support for our mission.-Advocate for the needs of children and young families in our community, promoting awareness and support for quality childcare.Strategic PlanDevelop and implement the program strategic plan, in cooperation with the Board of Directors. Fully execute the annual program plan within budgeted resources. Maintain frequent communication with the Board of Director(s) and Board Chair.Supervisory DutiesSupervise all YPEC staff and administer personnel policies. The Executive Director will recruit, hire, and oversee the training of qualified employees. Ensure a safe working environment that emphasizes personal growth and career development. Conduct annual performance reviews, recognize employee accomplishments, and budget for increases in compensation and expansion of benefits as appropriate. Also handle any issues according to YPEC policies and follow all related HIPAA regulations.Financial Management, Grants and FundraisingPrepare and administer the annual budget and follow board-established financial management procedures. Compile monthly financial statements and cash flow projections within financial software and present to Board of Directors. Complete financial audits and annual reviews. Find, prepare, submit and manage grants submittals to United Way, private foundations, and applicable state and federal programs. Work closely with Great Falls Public School system on any contract administration. Create and execute an annual development plan for YPEC including fundraising efforts. Organizational Development and Child CareKeep the Board informed of organizational progress and fundraising status by hosting monthly meetings. Provide reports on important activities and any budgetary or resource concerns to Board of Directors. Explore program expansion opportunities. Maintain requirements for STARS to Quality program and all childcare licensing.Community OutreachTrack organization’s progress and provide annual reporting metrics for external communication. Provide and advertise education and training opportunities offered by YPEC. Manage any public relations in association with the organization including advertisement opportunities for fundraising and communication with GFPS system. Seek out partnerships with other community resources and present on the mission of YPEC to other organizations. Prepare and execute presentations for grant and fundraising opportunities such as United Way. Plan and assist with special events, which may take place in the evenings or on weekends. The Executive Director is expected to follow and uphold all policies and procedures of YPEC and complete any other tasks deemed necessary to fulfill the role of Executive Director.Qualifications:-A bachelor's degree or higher in any field required, preferably in social work, child development, public health or related fields.oA combination of education and experience may be considered.-Experience in an early childhood setting required.-Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.-Proven track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in a dynamic environment-Familiarity with financial management, budgeting, and grant writing-Commitment to the mission and values of the Young Parents Education Center.-Certification in Adult/Child/Infant CPR and Pediatric First Aid or ability to obtain certification-Must be at least 18 years of age-Must be able to successfully complete teacher orientation as indicated in ARM 37.95.163.-Must be current on the ECP Practitioner Registry and meet one of the following criteria:oCurrent ECP Practitioner Registry level 4 or higher.oCurrent ECP Practitioner Registry level 3, plus two years of experience in a licensed child care facility or Head Start.oCurrent ECP Practitioner Registry level 2, plus three years of experience in a licensed child care facility or Head Start.-Demonstrated competency in using Microsoft Office programs, Google Docs, Quick Books Pro, and social media platforms. Experience with a variety of database software and website content management would be ideal.-Must be willing to complete any required coursework for childcare licensing in Montana and pass mandatory local, state and federal background checks.Compensation: This is an exempt, full-time (40 hours/week) salaried position with a starting salary range from $62,400 - $72,800, depending on education and experience. The work schedule will be Monday-Friday.
