Western Sierra Medical Clinic Inc Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor in Grass Valley, California

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES  Counsel and advise individuals with substance use disorders including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. May counsel individuals, families or groups. May also participate in prevention activities in the health center or out in the community. Works collaboratively with other recovery programs or public entities in the community to ensure comprehensive care to the patient.   GENERAL DUTIES (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) * Counsel clients or patients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes. * Interview clients, review records, and confer with other professionals to evaluate individuals' mental and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific program. * Develop client treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and client histories. * Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding the patients' histories and progress, services provided, or other required information. * Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans. * Obtain monthly reports that summarize and identify results of AUDIT/DAST testing; Identify individuals needing SBIRT based on these results and provides initial care planning for possible SUD treatment. * Participate in community outreach and educational opportunities. * Participate in quality improvement. * Other duties as assigned.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * CADC-I level counseling certification or higher level of counseling certification through CCAPP or equivalent board. * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, sociology, counseling, public administration or a closely related field preferred. * Bilingual (preferably Spanish) preferred.   DESIRED EXPERIENCE * Familiarity with an electronic practice management system. * Computer literate (i.e. logging on to computer, usage of keyboard and mouse, familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel). * Ability to type 40 wpm.   The salary range for this position is $23-27 per hour.
