Accounting Coordinator - Accounts Payable

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Grandville)

 

Summary:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounting Coordinator - Accounts Payable (AP) to join their dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing the financial processes that ensure smooth operations, from processing expense reports to optimizing cash flow through accurate invoice handling. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at maintaining organized financial records, and is adept at fostering strong relationships with vendors. Responsibilities:

  • Process check and ACH payments for various invoices, ensuring all applicable discounts are applied.
  • Maintain organized records of all open and paid invoices.
  • Receive, review, and post approved employee expense reports in D365.
  • Track company credit card charges, match receipts to statements, and post payments.
  • Review invoices to maximize cash flow through various payment methods, including ACH, check, and foreign wire.
  • Verify payment accuracy, complete payments, and send remit information to vendors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries.
  • Manage responsibilities related to vendor billbacks, chargebacks, home store deductions, and other debit memos.
  • Cross-train for duties such as posting invoices, covering the front desk and phones, and managing outgoing mail.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in accounting, business, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable and ERP Software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or another major ERP software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting while managing competing demands and priorities.

Preferences:

  • Experience in a hybrid work environment.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to new and changing circumstances. :::
